Four Count Breathing

This is a breathing technique my mother taught me. It lowers your BPM (Beats Per Minute) by 20, thereabouts. It also is great if you’re planning to do meditation of really any kind.

Here’s how it works.

  1. Inhale for a count of four.
  2. Hold for a count of four.
  3. Exhale for a count of four.
  4. Hold for a count of four

Then you just repeat as needed, until your body sinks into its own natural breathing rhythm.
