A Call for Change

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who won’t do anything about it. The evil that is in the world almost always comes of ignorance, and good intentions may do as much harm as malevolence if they lack understanding. It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace, and sacrifice for it. My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth. As men are not able to fight against death, misery, ignorance, they have taken it into their heads, in order to be happy, not to think of them at all.

Speak the truth, do not yield to anger; give, if thou art asked for little; by these three steps thou wilt go near the gods. I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.

Be the change that you want to see in the world. We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts, we make the world. If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you will never change the outcome. We have always held to the hope, the belief, the conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond the horizon. With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear.  Perhaps the actions you take will be successful; perhaps different actions or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.
